RYCA
'Evolution Stops Here'
76cm x 56cm
Four colours have been used, excluding the background (paper) colour.
I like how screen-printing can be effective for controversial or political statements, such as this one. I may not fully understand what the artist 'RYCA' was trying to achieve or what strived him to make this, but the title says a lot as well as the image inside the lollipop.
Screen-printing has been used a lot, especially nowadays, for illustrating statements because of its street-art/urban/graphic style. The messages involved seem to be influenced by Lichtenstein's heavy quotes and statements in a lot of his work too. It's very contemporary and popular with the new generation of creatives.
Munk One'Night of the Living Dead'
This seems to be a screen-printed book illustration.
The detail is beautiful and the colours used are gloomy and dark and very well mixed. That particular shade of purple used for the background must have been difficult to achieve.
The tone and texture of the zombie girl's hair looks amazing and must have taken ages to do.
