Drypoint etching artists

Norman Catherine
'Catnap', 1990
35.5 x 50cm

My opinion of drypoint etchings have now changed ever since I have seen this man's artwork.
He is ridiculously good at drypoint!
His work reminds me of Picasso's surreal paintings. The figure he has drawn have two pairs of eyes and everything is very flat and geometric.
However, this prooves how drypoint etching can bring out tone well, as I always knew it was great for texture.

This drypoint etching is a good example of how colour can be used. Also, the colour hasn't been added to an etched part of the surface. It has simply been smeared straight onto the acetate/board by the artist. You can tell by the way some parts are darker than others and there are no impressions or markings on the rabbit apart from a little around the ears.
The background is beautiful.
