Flock and Foil

Flock and Foil is a technique used to fix two different materials onto another material, creating a great effect for clothing.
Flock is a slightly furry material, resembling velvet.
Foil is a shiny material.

Flock and Foil process
:
  • Place either fabric or paper on flat surface.
  • Using the mesh screen you used for screen-printing, if using that image, pass glue up the image twice for paper and four times for fabric.
  • For foil: place it coloured side up on the fabric/paper.
  • For flock: place it textured side flat on the glue.
  • Close the heat transfer press lid. Temperature reaches 205 degrees celcius.
  • The heat transfer press will make a tune when finished. Leave the material to cool and peel the excess flock or foil off.
